Building Skills - Building People

Experiential Learning at Pyramid Equine

What is Equine Assisted Learning?

We offer skill development programs which allow participants to actively learn about themselves by observing and responding to the body language of a horse. They create a partnership with the horse in order to complete objective-driven activities. They then have an opportunity to apply that learning to their own personal lives.  This personal growth fosters life skills which enhance all areas of our lives from individual relationships to success in the workplace and school.

Why Horses?

Horses consistently react to stimulus provided by participants. Some of the joys associated with working around horses are – they don’t judge but they constantly watch, listen, and feel. Their feedback is honest and instant. Learning to listen to what horses have to say is powerful and can sometimes spur the answer to individual change. By including horses in specially designed educational exercises, equine-assisted facilitators have greatly multiplied the participant’s rate of success to self discovery.  How?  Horses can magnify an individual’s problem immediately and provide a skilled facilitator with an opportunity to identify an individual’s character. Horses don’t over think a participant’s motive

but horses do challenge their behaviour and leadership.

Experiential Learning Programs for Youth

Prepare Your Children to Take On The Challenges That Life Throws at Them

One of the bonuses of working with horses is the component of interactivity.  Because we all learn differently we can all take away lessons that we learn through our experiences with horses.  That's what experiential learning is all about!

Authentic You Women’s Workshops

Working with horses to benefit and empower women

As women, some of us are constantly in fear of being judged. Horses are incapable of judgement. What a unique thought; to go to a place where judgement does not exist and we can just be ourselves!  They don't care about clothes, or weight, or spiritual or political beliefs, or where we've come from. They just care about helping you be the best version of YOU that you can be.

8 Session Bullying Program

Working with horses to build self-esteem and self-confidence

All kids need skills to help them navigate their lives and in our youth programs kids learn how to develop healthy relationships.  Our Anti-bullying program gives kids the tools of communication, negotiation, and of course self-confidence that they can use to become the very best version on themselves.

It’s a process where each program has an objective yet all objectives are built into each program. We work with one solid objective at a time and keep building on these skills each week hence the building block curriculum. Building skills for life!
